All of Nutiva’s Organic Hemp Seed Oil is quality-controlled and made in small batches. We also use dark bottles, which are nitrogen flushed for purity, quality and deliver a superior flavor. The dark bottles also keep the harmful light out, which can corrupt the delicate nutrition profile of our hemp seed oil.

Using only the finest hemp seeds, Nutiva’s totally raw and unrefined, expeller cold-pressed hemp seed oil has a light green color, light, nutty flavor, and has more GLA (gamma lineolic acid) content compared to other hemp seed oil brands on the market. We partner with the strictest Canadian hemp growers to source all of Nutiva’s certified organic hemp seeds.

Hemp seed health starts with how the plants are grown, and continues with the way its processed. At Nutiva, we always cold press (under 104F) our hemp seed oil from fresh, raw hemp seeds and we never use solvents such as hexane in the process.

There are many nutritional benefits found in the superfood, hemp seeds, (some people like to call them “hemp hearts”). Nutiva’s Hemp Seed Oil is a rich source of vitamin E as well as the perfect balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids (EFAs). The typical hemp seed oil EFA profile contains 7 grams of Omega-6 LA, 2.5 grams Omega-3 ALA, .5 grams of Omega-6 GLA and .25 grams Omega-3 SDA.

Our oil has a very clean and pure taste that’s a little bit nutty. Hemp seed oil is very fragile and should never be put to heat. So do not use to saut, fry, bake or roast any foods.
